Margaret is the woman, writer, and photographer behind dulse & maple.
She’s a locavore with a passion for homesteading, food, supporting other female entrepreneurs, and sharing inspiration from her rural life in a vibrant coastal community.
A writer and dreamer since childhood, Margaret was born and raised in rural Nova Scotia. She flew off to experience the magic of the West Coast for a while, where she cultivated her mind, earned a B.A. and M.A. in English from the University of Victoria, and fell in love.
An expired academic with a bohemian spirit, Margaret now unschools her two young children alongside her husband on a one acre homestead and runs her own content marketing business on the South Shore of Nova Scotia.
The best move she ever made was marrying Mathieu, a sweet and compassionate Maritime-born French-Canadian, (the maple to her dulse) with whom she co-parents two incredible daughters – a curious and spirited five year old and a spunky and sweet three year old.
Margaret is passionate about finding and telling great stories, especially around food, gardening, sustainability, community, and heart-centered entrepreneurship.
